British Education in Murcia |

| A brand new, purpose-built school is to be built at the La Torre Golf resort, one of the series of Golf resorts under construction by Polaris world in the region of Murcia. The King's Group of schools has been contracted to manage this new school which will cater for children from Pre-Nursery (children under the age of 3) up to Year 13, when pupils take their final examinations for university entrance. |
Initially accepting pupils from the Pre-Nursery to Year 2 (or possibly up to Year 3/ Year 4 depending on demand), the school will eventually have a two-form entry for a total of 750 pupils. |

 | Pupils will follow the English National Curriculum in spacious, well-equipped classrooms, just as they would in the Uk. They will be taught by qualified British teachers and international pupils will recieve special Spanish lessons to help them integrate into Spanish life and culture. |

 | At the age of 3 pupils will follow the Foundation Stage programme, leading into Key Stage 1 of the English NAtional Curriculum. Children will be taught by qualified British teachers in well-equipped, stimulating classrooms. Our aim is to create a rich learning environment in which children will feel at home and come to school happily. From the age of five all pupils will study Spanish according to their ability. |
 | From 7 - 11 years of age pupils will be taugh in the Junior Department where emphasis is laid on active, investigate methods of teaching. As in ritian, towards the end of Year 6, children take National Curriculum Test in the three core subjects: English, Mathematics and science.
A limited number of places will also be available on a special Induction programme for pupils between the ages of 7 and 9, who wish to join the school but whose English is less well developed. |
 | The education offered in the Senior School will build on the pupils' previous achievements. from 1 to 14 years of age, they will follow Key Stage 3 of the National Curriculum just as they would in Britian, with a achievement test at the end of Year 9. At the age of 16 they will prepare for (I)GCSE examinations. Having completed these succesfully they will then study A levels for university entrance. |
